How do you install the new balance ring? My issue is that I can get the ring down all the way except for two clips. The ring is just to small to push down all the way. Anyone have any experiance with this?

Thank you,

It should go on fairly easily, so compare it to the old one and see you didn't get a defective part.

Thank you for your response. I had Appliance Care Services help out. They could not get the new ring balancer on either. Pulled the tub and tried again, no joy. Their thoughts were the same but the replacement part checked out from Whirlpool.

Next thing they tried was to see if the old ring balancer would go back on, too tight a fit. So the diagnosis was out of round tub. (No Charge, not even a trip charge, nice company)

Issue solved: Since the tub was pulled, I turned the tub over and stood on it. Slowly bounced on the tub and it finally dropped the rest of the way into the ring and locked in place.

I quickly ran out and caught the tech before he left. He put the unit back together and found another part that needed replaced upon testing. Unit now runs great!

Hope this helps someone else. Thanks again for your help!

Matt

Sounds great Matt, glad you got it fixed and glad the service call did not cost you anything.
