Hello,

I have a Roper REX5634KQ1. When I depress the start knob it starts to run. The moment I release the start knob it shuts off. A new motor has been installed along with a new belt.

Recheck the wiring.
When the motor gets close to operating speed the centrifugal switches on the motor close. One of them closes 5M to 6M. These contacts are in parallel with the start switch and keep the motor running after you release the start switch.

Also if you hold the start switch on do you have heat?
If not then the centrifugal mechanism which activates the switches is probably not working.

According the diagram and based on the info you provided it's a bad motor.
Recommend to replace the motor again.

I would like you all for the advice. The motor was bad. After some delay the dryer was fixed. Again thank you all for your time and advice it's greatly appreciated.
