my amana washer (super capacity plus, 2 speed, 12 cycles)stopped agitating following a major power outage, how old is my washer and is it worth repairing or shoul i replace it.

If you can give us the serial number we can give you the date of manufacture.

With respect to fixing, we need more detailed information. Was the machine on when the outage occurred, and if so, do you know where it was in the cycle? You say the machine does not agitate, but does it start, fill and then stall? Does the timer advance? Does it empty, spin and refill for rinse? etc

If you can give us a complete status of the machine we can give a better diagnosis. However, if as a result of your outage there was a power surge that damaged the machine it is likely that a new one will be in order.
