Over the last several weeks, my dishwasher appears to power off during its cycle. Sometimes this happens during the middle of the cycle, sometimes near the end, and sometimes it completes without any issues. All the lights on the front go off. The dishwasher will start a new cycle on its own a few minutes later with the default settings (heated dry on; I normally have this off). Any ideas as to what may cause this, or how to troubleshoot this?

Hello,

Check all wires and connections. Check the door switches. If there is nothing wrong, replace the control board.

Update: I checked all wiring connections. One connection seemed a little loose, so I tightened it. The next time I ran the dishwasher it ran fine. Today, however, the dishwasher ran for just a few minutes before shutting down. Unlike previous times, the dishwasher did not restart and in fact now I don't even see any lights on the front panel; it is completely dead. The circuit breaker is OK. Is the control board still the most likely culprit, or are there other things I should check first?

I would replace the control board but before you will order the part I would recommend to check with GE if your dishwasher is not on recall.

Gene.

Thanks. I'll try replacing the control board. Actually my dishwasher was part of the recall and I had the heating element replaced a few months ago.
