So my Control board appears to have givin up the ghost. I read other posts to diagnose the user interface board alarm going off and it was cycling on and off showing power fail etc. about every 2 or 3 seconds.

I have disconnected the user interface board(silence the alarm) and I pulled the main board out from under the fridge. I could hear one of the (my tech goes to poop here) little black boxes on the board clicking on and off and that seemed to be the issue with the board. Its like a set of points making contact in there. SO I cracked it open with a pair of pliers and put in a small shim to hold that circuit closed/or open(whichever I am doing to it) :), which solves the power going on and off.

It is 1:00pm Central time here and I have already ordered the new board shipped overnight from this website.

My question is, Will I hurt anything by shimming that contact and leaving the fridge running like that? You can hear the fan in the fridge and freezer come on and off in a regular loop. The compressor is running and keeping it cool. Will it be ok to run it like that for 36 hours till my new board gets here, so my food wont go bad?

By doing that you will have the compressor running non stop, even when the refrigerator should go into the defrost mode. I don't think it is a good idea.

Got the New board in and its working fine. Those wiring looms they send are to bulky to put into the circuit board tray in my opinion.

Could cause some pressure against other sensitive parts on the board with all that wiring in there, and there is a lot of it!!

I put the tray in a bag and sealed it up from dust and left the wiring out on the side and just slid it back in there, albeit a little more difficult to get in the slot that way.
