I came home from work and the unit was off. No power, checked the outlet with a lamp and it was fine. Plugged the frig into another outlet and nothing. Two days later my son came home and thought he'd take a look. I plugged it in, it clicked and he spun the fan. It did not click the day it went out. It seems to work but I am not sure if this is an indication of a bigger problem. I purchased a new frig but am thinking about returning it. Not sure how long this one will run. It is 7 years old. How long do these newer refrigerators last?

If nothing was running, remove the overlay to the control pane, remove all the screws and drop the panel. Next time it fails, tap on the control panel or the connector to it, one is intermittent.
