Our Kenmore dispenses crushed ice but not cubes. The solenoid will kick open but auger won't turn to push the cubes out. I'm thinking there may be trouble with the front door operator slide switch going from water/crushed/cubes. The auger turns when dispensing the crushed ice so I know the auger isn't stuck and works. How do I open up the door controls area. (front) I certainly don't want to break it. HELP!

For what it's worth, I took apart the upper front panel where to circuit board is. Since the circuit board is small, I actually reflowed each solder connection with a little more solder, on the board, with a pencil soldering iron. I cleaned everything and put it all back together and Wa La! I now have cubes! I don't know if it was the solder job or just re-seating the two plugs, but it works and I'm a happy camper now with cubes generously flowing on demand and zero cost to repair.
