The right side door catch on my GE Profile refrigerator has broken off. A photo of the broken piece is below, along with a shot of the left side, showing what was. I have looked around online to see about just buying the broken part, but all I can find is a complete seal assembly for $225. That is a lot to spend for a bit of broken plastic. Do I have to buy the entire assembly, or does someone sell just the broken piece? Alternatively, is it possible to remove the seal and piece the part back together using either epoxy or a plastic welder? Thanks. backintheusa attached the following image(s):

Hi. Unfortunately the manufacturer doesn't sell this part by itself. You'll need to by the door gasket. Unless you can figure out how to attach it back. Part number: AP3855786
Good luck. Simon.

Thanks Simon. I was afraid that would be the answer. It probably makes sense to try fixing it (I own old cars and am pretty good at fabricating my own solutions for problems) before I shell out for the new gasket. Do you know if there are removal/installation instructions available online for this model?
Thanks again.
Jim

Hi.
Click on the gaskets picture and scroll down to the second Q/A on the left.
Simon.

Thanks Simon. Not to belabor the point, but am I safe in assuming the removal is the reverse? So, hinge side to handle side to top to bottom? Jim
