Rank: Member Groups: Registered Joined: 11/21/2010(UTC) Posts: 13		Machine runs wash cycle fine but when spin/drain cycle initiates the tub jerks and motor hums but the motor seems to be trying to overcome a load it can't and the thermal overload switch will trip if I leave it on in that part of the cycle. I have tried to manually start the drum rotation when spin cycle starts but it doesn't help even after I emptied the drum. Does this have something to do with the basket drive or transmission system? Thanks for your help Larry

I would remove the cabinet, pull the pump off the motor, jump out the lid switch and try it. If it still won't work, pull the motor and try it sitting on the floor with your foot on it so it won't jump when starting. If it runs fine on the floor, try turning the gearcase input shaft by hand CW (spin direction). If it won't go, it's likely the gearcase. If it was the basket drive, the clutch would slip still allowing the motor and gearcase to work. If the motor won't run sitting on the floor, it's likely a bad timer. Eric

Rank: Member Groups: Registered Joined: 11/21/2010(UTC) Posts: 13		So I pulled the cabinet, pulled the pump off and could see that something was in the smaller pipe and pulled out a somewhat shredded sock. Removing this corrected the issue. I jumped the lid switch and the machine spin cycle started right up. Thanks for your input. Larry
