My Panasonic Inverter was plugged in but not in use. The circuit breaker got tripped for 4-5 seconds. Then microwave showed "Refer to operating instructions before use." I have not turned it on since. What can be causing this?

Boomer, Apparently, your microwave does not have a "memory" or "back up" circuit. Whenever there is a loss of power to the product, you have to reprogram the control (at the least you need to set the clock). Press Clock once. ➤Colon flashes. • Enter time of day using the number pads. ➤Time appears in the display window; colon continues flashing. • Press Clock. ➤Colon stops flashing; time of day is entered. NOTES: 1. To reset the clock, repeat step 1-3. 2. The clock will retain the time of day as long as the oven is plugged in and electricity is supplied. 3. Clock is a 12 hour display. 4. Oven will not operate while colon is flashing.

I have the same message but my keypad now does not work. I have reset the circuit breaker and pressed the reset button on the microwave. Still no use out of the keypad. Any advice?

Susiebell, Your post information would indicate an issue in the key pad assembly, you'll need to remove the control panel and check that the ribbon between the control board and the control panel is not damaged or loose. If OK, you'll need a new key pad assembly.
