I think my question is similar. I'm replacing the defrost timer on my Magic Chef DNF17BCLWHT upright Freezer. The original timer simply plugs into a harness, there is no jumper wire or loose lead. I'm assuming that I should ignore the jumper and bending the terminals as per the instruction sheet(which is VERY confusing), but should I also ignore the loose lead? Or should I connect it to terminal 1 for 6 hour continous operation??? What is the difference between continuous and cumulative operation?? Thanks so much.

Hi Gene, I replaced the Timer and defrost heater in this unit and the defroster works, but again the drain is frozen after three weeks or so. It was defrosted and cleared prior to the last repair(timer). Could a faulty defrost thermostat cause this? That is the only part not yet replaced.

Remove the cover on the back of the refrigerator and make sure the bottom end of the drain hose is clean. Frozen drain has nothing to do with the defrost thermostat.

Thanks Gene for answering the thermostat question. I cleaned out the drain again, disconnecting the plastic drain tube from the metal nipple on the back of freezer, and thoroughly flushed it out with bleach/water mix. We'll see in a few weeks if thats the answer.
