My stackable washer isn't starting, but dryer works fine. What is the likely part to be defective?

Does it fill with water? I believe the lid switch on the thin twin washers only effects drain and spin.

Eric You're corret, my mistake. If the washer won't fill or wash, then there would be a broken black wire, between the timer and line cord connections or a faulty timer Part number: AP2974739
