Rank: Member Groups: Registered Joined: 2/19/2013(UTC) Posts: 3		Gas Dryer starts fine if you set for no heat or air dry. As soon as you switch to call for heat, it trips breaker. Definitely not motor related. Looking for ideas what to try.

I hope you did not use a GFCI breaker. Remove the top panel and locate the control board on the left side. Remove the Red wire from the heater relay at the control board and give it a try. If the breaker will go Off, replace the control board. - The control board Part number: 8546219 Gene.

I tried removing the red wire on control board and yes it runs without throwing breaker. Are you fairly certain I shouldn't look any further and that is the problem for sure? I also did ohm check on gas control coil and it checked out OK.

The instruction I posted earlier is incorrect because of mistyping. Instead of: "If the breaker will stay On, replace the control board" it should be "If the breaker goes Off, replace the control board". Check for continuity between that Red wire and the ground and post the result. I attached the wiring sheet for this dryer. It might help too. Gene.
