I have a Monogram 36" Range, ZDP36N4D#### (with Griddle and Nat Gas, electric oven). I'm not sure of the exact model number. The broiler doesn't work. Nor does self cleaning (which I hope is whatever is making the broiler not work.) I took things apart, the broiler heating element looks fine, there is continuity when connected from plug to plug, and there are no breaks/continuity from outside to inside, and there was resistance. Not sure if this means anything, but my wife has said for years that the oven is always like 25 degrees too hot. (And the broiler has probably been broke for many years, we don't try to use it hardly ever.) But I'd like to clean! Here is a picture of the electrical parts underneath, and the knobs up top for reference. Can anyone help me determine what part might be the culprit? Thanks in Advance!

Hello,
There are two indicator lights which should be lit when you turn the Broil on: the On light and the Heat light. Do they go on when you turn the Broil on?
Look for the mini-manual behind the bottom cover. The name plate with the model number should be on the back of the range. It is very important to have the complete model number.
Gene.

Hi Gene,
Neither light comes on, but the convection fan (or some fan) starts up. Unfortunately I can't pull the stove out right now (it's super heavy) and for some reason my mini manual isn't there. I'm going to go look for my mini manual.
I re-attached my picture to my original post, because I think maybe people can't see it from where it was originally hosted. Maybe this helps?
I looked at another site and saw that the electrical diagram from ZDP36N4DH1SS, ZDP36N4DH4SS, ZDP36N4DH5SS all look like mine, except none show this extra relay/part in the middle (the one the the bright red wire from the right is connecting to in my picture).
Thanks!

The relay in the middle on your picture is hot wire relay. You may want to check it for continuity between the terminals S & R. If there is no continuity, the relay has to be replaced. The beginning of the model number ZDP36N4D represents huge family of GE dual fuel ranges. The design and diagrams are very different depending on the end of the model number. That's why it's so important to have the complete model number. - The hot wire relay Part number: WB21X5362

I do have continuity - and the part looks good. I guess I could buy it and return if it doesn't fix the problem. Anything else I should check? - Thanks in advance.

Unfortunately I'm not able to provide any advice without complete model number.

OK Gene, Things have changed a bit, but I'm the same guy with the same stove, so I'll begin again here. My model number is Model ZDP36N4DW2SS
(found it actually in the rear left under the burner tray). At this point I have no broil AND no bake. Of course no clean. Here's the setup and current state: The buttons at the top are Bake, Conv, Broil, Clean, plus the knob.
- Bake: Bake button on, knob to a temperature
- -- Result: "Oven On" light comes on, "Heating" light is off, no heating.
- Conv: Conv button on, knob to a temperature
- -- Result: Conv fan comes on, "Oven On" light comes on, "Heating" light is off, no heating.
- Broil: Broil button on, knob to broil
- -- Result: Broil fan comes on, No "Oven On" light, No "Heating" light, no heating. Also, when the "off" button is pressed, many times I see BOTH the left rear and left front cooktop sparkers snap once.
- Clean: Clean button on, knob to clean
- -- Result: Nothing – No fan, No "Oven On" light, "No Heating" light, no heating.
Now, since my original post: 1) In screwing with the inside of the hot wire relay then replacing, I shorted and destroyed the hot wire relay. This caused a spark inside the relay. Therefore I replaced the --- Hot wire relay Part number: WB21X5362
2) Then nothing worked (exactly as described above) -- I'm assuming the resulting shorting caused more damage. Then I decided that perhaps because the temperature had been described as wrong before, the next thing was to replace the --- High temp cut out / thermometer Part number: WB21X5359
But after replacing that, I'm still exactly where I stand as described. 3) I've looked at the various parts in the electrical area and cleaned up the dust. Everything looks good at a glance. That takes me to today and the state of the oven function. What should I try next? Another post I saw was starting to talk about the buttons, but the bake, conv, and broil buttons all appear to do at least something. I have not removed to panel to see what else happens at the oven back there. Thanks!

Hi, The complete model number helps a lot. I was able to find the mini-manual with all electrical diagrams and troubleshooting instructions which I attached to the post. You may want to verify that the red button in the center of the high temperature limiter you replaced is pushed in. Then make sure the blower comes on when the selector button pressed and check the air switch (#550 at the diagram). Here are the breakdown diagrams and Parts for GE ZDP36N4DWSS Range - AppliancePartsPros.comGene.
