My compressor at first stopped working. Then after resting unplugged overnight it started working when I plugged it back in. Then the compressor seemed froze up. It will click on but only hum before overload switch turns it off. After letting it rest again the compressor wants to start. It runs for a few seconds then clicks off like the overload switch is kicking in. Although the sound of the compressor seems normal. This model has no accessible coils just the compressor with switches attached.

Hello, You may want to replace the compressor start components first. If it would not help then the compressor itself is bad. - The start relay Part number: 216008900

There is no an instrumental test instructed for such problem. You can remove the part from the compressor and shake it. If it would make a rattling sound then it's definitely bad.
Otherwise you can order the parts from APP and return them back if it would not fix the problem.

Well I did the shake test and it rattled. So I took off the capacitor and replasced the relay. It's been working fine for 24 hrs so I think that did it! Thanks for the tips. I just fixed my freezer for $2.99! Awesome!
