Our Maytag electric dryer does not want to operate and this just happened today. It worked fine yesterday. When we press the control on button, the normal lights come on. But when we press the start button on any dryer setting, the sensing light illuminates, the dryer clicks once and then nothing else. I pulled the thermal fuse to check for continuity and it tested okay. What other tests can I run? :(

More information for your review and insight. I pulled the dryer thermister and checked it for continuity and it tested good. I opened the door and pressed in the door switch by hand to see if the same response (sensing light illuminates, the dryer clicks once and then nothing else) was obtained and it was. This suggests to me that the door switch also is okay.

Hi all, the problem was the control board and it had a burn spot on it. I enclose some photos with this post. The closeup is for the top right triangle area, the burn spot is evident. I didn't think to pull out the control board, but I will know the next time to check this also. moody9207 attached the following image(s):
