Usually I am pretty handy, but am totally stumped with this one....

I have an Admiral gas dryer which stopped tumbling. Motor was still working. I took the dryer apart and discovered the belt is intact but the metal pulley sprocket (that looks like a sewing machine spindle) broke in half. It doesnt look exactly like the diagrams online... it has this cup looking thing over it...

All I need to do is replace that motor pulley sprocket... but cant figure out hoew to remove it... it just keeps turning... hopefully I wont have to replace the whole motor? screw driver points to it

Did you forget to attach a picture?

They are usually reverse/left hand thread.
So grab the motor shaft with a set on pliers/vice grips (where you will not damage the threads etc.) so it cannot turn. Then grab the pulley with another set and while pulling it off rotate it to the right.
With luck what is left of the pulley will grab onto the threads and you will be able to unscrew it.
