HELP! My washer fills fine, but won't go in to regular wash cycle. Sometimes I can turn it to short load cycle on Permanent press only and it will go through the cycle but also doesn't finish occasionally. I took off the control panel and all of the connections are clean and look good. I can hear the timer operating and it will continue to move on its own sometimes, even when the washer is not carring out it's duties. I turn it through multiple functions and at first it may have done some of the functions but now I am down to only filling up and that is it. When it works, everything sounds normal, no unusual sounds, smells etc.I am guessing maybe the timer needs to be replaced ( or the control panel) but am not convinced. Please give any advice, I appreciate it.

HI.

Get the multimeter and check as follows:

Check the lid switch for continuity. Replace if needed.
The check switch next to the lid switch is #5 on the diagram #5. With unit unplugged install the jumper wire between RED and YEL, plug it back and start with lid closed. If it starts - replace the lid switch assembly
Part number: 22001682
Part number: 22001682

If not - go to the water level switch #21 on the diagram #4 and with the tub full of water and washer unplugged install the jumper between #7 (GY) and #16(YEL).
Plug the washer in and if it works - replace the water level
Part number: 208202
Part number: 208202

If not - replace the timer Part number: 22001026

Ok, I checked the lid switch and the water level switch and they are ok, I checked the timer contacts and from a basic top view they look good but from an angle I can see blackened contacts underneath. I also turned the knob while it was on and saw a slight green spark in the contact areas that is blackened. I would hate to purchase this timer and be wrong since it is so expensive but I think you are right. Thanks. Any other suggestions... please, I am willing to accept.

Hi.

It's not clear from your post if you'd tested the check switch also.
If you get the parts from APP you may return them back no questions asked.

Post the results.

Simon.
