My dryer won't stop. I disassembled it and cleaned it from inside but the problem remains. I checked the air flow and I noticed the air duct outside the house was frozen with ice so I cleaned it, now I can feel the hot air going out from the air duct but the problem remains. I ordered a new timer and installed it and the problem remains again!!! It dries perfectly but I have to stopped manually the timer does not rotate!!!

What else could be the cause of this problem?

It heats and dries and rotates inside only the timer does not work...

Regards,
Sam.

No reply?

Here is what I did lately:

1) I checked the continuity of all wires from end to end they are OK

2) I checked the Neutral from the dryer plug to BK wire on the timer by closing the circuit I got the beep on my meter. Based on the circuit schematic this will tell me if the door switch and the push to start timer are functioning when dryer is in working mode.

3) I checked the voltage of L1 and L2 I got 115V witch is good

What else should I do before I go buy a new dryer?:(

Hi Sam,

Very likely the problem is a bad cycling thermostat (#27 at the diagram). When the dyer reached the cut-off temperature this thermostat should switch power to the timer motor.
