I purchased a new compressor for my dead refrigerator. It turns out that the original was discontinued and the new one has two too many tubes coming out of it on the right bottom side (when viewing the compressor on the side the model number, etc. decal is on). My repair man said it was not the same and that i should ask what these are for and can they just be crimped????

This compressor is the manufacturer authorized substitution. It may differ in appearance, but is a functional equivalent to the prior part.

Yes, I was told this by someone at the parts store, but what do i do with the extra tubes on the bottom right hand side of this unit. There are no extra items i can connect to them on the fridge. Can i add copper and then crimp them, or do i need to do something different?

If your repair man is certified refrigeration technician then he has to know how to install it. This job has to be done by an EPA certified tech.

these lines are most likely oil cooling lines, the tubes just lupe inside the compressor. They can be left alone, they don,t need to be sealed. As long as the compressor has the same size horse power and BTU factor as the other then there should be no problem....
