A wooden broom or mop handle is a good unjamming tool for a garbage disposer. A metal or plastic handle won't work. Put the end of the handle down into the disposer and rotate it around until it jams against the impeller on the flywheel of the disposer. Pry with the broom handle and force the flywheel to turn. If you cant move the flywheel try prying it the other direction.
