Well it made it through the holidays. The bin ran out yesterday duringPacker Game. Today I found the Whirpool & Kitchen Aid In-Door Ice Systemmanual. I am retired electronics tech an all our manuals were on line at thePost Office.
First rule of thumb KISS and don't break anything. That infant mortalitything that keeps the parts people in business.
So here is what I know.
1. Everything is well frozen including remaining Ice in door bin.
2. No Ice in maker.
3. Water in door OK had unplugged filter because we use filtered water tosink and fridge.
4. Now that the wife wanted and I pushed filter in a bit of bubbles come outin the water but I don't see this as problem, it is getting air out of it.
I am going after Icing in the Water Fill Nozzle but don't like the idea ofpulling it out in fear of breaking it. We got the unit in 2006. I see we pullit into the freezer. How often is this a problem? Shouldn't this be after thevalve actuates but no water flows?
I don't know. I do know this icemaker is important to my wife and like the dishwasheryou guys helped me fix and AppliancePartsPro got me the parts. Fixing is myonly option because of custom wood panels and all.
I like the jumper Idea to make thing happen and isolate components. Do I usesolid gauge #14 wire? I also don't want to break things to get the Icemaker outto get to the test points in the left side of the housing.
Do the unmarked holes go to the same place and if so front to back what istheir designation. That way nothing has to be removed and if the water flows ithas somewhere to go.

Tom Started here https://secured.whirlpoo...72333/$FILE/4322658A.pdf Read through Theory of Operation Pulled the fridge and checked the water flow with jumpers from removed water control and I filled the Icemaker for 3 seconds. Yes that was good. On to Optics diagnostic and all was good. Now to pull the Icemaker. Removed cover and a 3/8 inch tab fell out. It was part of shaft tab that held gear on. Things looked stressed. Inside the Ice tray one off the cube molds (the one closest to the motor and control housing was missing most of the coating over the casting. Not good it had a bit of a Ice in bottom. Hum. Followed the 1. Unplug fridge 2. Jumper T to H plug put unit in ready to unplug when the motor for the ejectors moved but guess what? No movement after a long while. The guy that posted for us all the link above was correct. 95% of the time it is the icemaker. AppliancePartsPro.com had the part and we will see. Nothing to it so far. I will flip the circuit breaker nezt time. That is easier but the area behind got a good cleaning. Tom
