Have a gas dryer that will heat for about 5 minutes, then the heat quits. It was working fine until it possibly got some water damage from Hurricane Sandy. It was on top of the washing machine so the water line was about 4 inches up from the dryer bottom. Any suggestions? I'm trying to fix this for a couple with children that are living in a shelter right now until their house gets power back to it. Thanks in advance.

Pardon my ignorance but where are those located? I didn't see them on the parts diagram you sent. I'm a motorcycle mechanic, this is the first appliance I've ever worked on.

Hi.

On the top of the gas valve. The double coil has an insert, when replacing make sure it's on the shaft.

How do you access the Gas Valve? Do you have to remove the drum? I took the rear access cover off and couldn't see anything that looked like the part. I took the top off also. Tight quarters in there. I can look from the back down the gas inlet pipe but I can't access anything in there. Thanks again for your help.

Hi.

You need to remove the top cover and front panel to get to the gas valve.Take three screws at the back out and slide the top back an inch and lift it off.
