The agitator for my Maytag (LAT8904AAE) works when set for "Heavy" mode but as the dial rotates toward the "Normal" mode the agitator stops. If you start the cycle in the "Normal" mode the agitator will not work. Sometime when you turn the dial a complete turn it will work and sometime it will not. Does this sound like a timer issue or a more serious problem?

Hi.

If the motor stops when the agitator stops - then you need to replace the timer Part number: 22001024
Part number: 22001024

Here are the breakdown diagrams and 04-Control Panel parts for Maytag LAT8904AAE - AppliancePartsPros.com

Post the results.
