Washer fills with water and then just sits. No noise, nothing. Changed water lever to high and it will fill but nothing else. No spinning, pumping out, nothing. Just sits quietly. Ideas?

Check the lid switch--especially if this happens in all the wash cycles.

That's a very old model (22 yrs?). In the old models, the lid switch generally only affected drain/spin mode. Will it drain and spin if you manually advance the timer? If it drains and spins ok, I would check the water level pressure switch. Since the water does shut off, it is activating but the full position may be defective which would prevent agitation and timer movement.
