I have a hotpoint dishwasher which recently started to leak. Upon further investigation I found that the problem is the water supply inlet bracket at the lower left side of the dishwasher. The water is getting pushed out (see arrow of picture) at this point, and then just runs down the insulation sleeve and onto the floor. Is something missing there? Any help and advice is appreciated. Can I use silicon/caulk to close of those gaps, or do they have a purpose? I do not understand why the water inlet side has an open bracket like that in the first place.
Any help and assistance is appreciated.
Merry Christmas everybody!

Hello,
Most likely the cause of that leak is an excessive pressure in the incoming water line. Try to slowly close the water shut off valve under the sink to decrease the water pressure until it will stop leaking.
Gene. P.S. Make sure there is no calcium build-up inside this part.
