The ice/water dispensor lights are working fine, but when I push the lever, the lights go out and there is a click and the compressor seems to go out for a few seconds. Releasing the lever returns everything to normal. No power getting to solenoids.

That is not your model number but I see this problem on GE side-by-side refrigerators less than 5 years old a lot. The main board on the back of the refrigerator is bad replace it. Ice Dispenser Repair Guide

Yes, that is the model. Thanks for the very helpful reply. What causes those to go out so easily? Cheap Chinese parts or a power surge? You would think for $3000 it would last more than a couple of years.
