On the top (12:00 position) of the back of my outer tub assembly on my LG WM0532HW clothes washer, there is a maybe 1.5" diameter round opening. In the opening is a grey plastic mushroom-looking piece with a rubber leg attached. It is not depicted in the exploded parts diagram that I can find. A bellows attaches to it (F315, from what I can tell) that in turn attaches to a vent at the top end of the machine. Can anyone confirm that this mushroom piece just serves as a water splash stop function for an air vent and that it really is supposed to be just floating there? Thanks! 5030tinkerer attached the following image(s):

Hi.
You are correct. It's an air vent water splash guard.

Thanks! And it's supposed to be just floating there without any sort of additional support?
