Had some issues with my Maytag stackable washer-dryer earlier in the week and had taken the front panel off the dryer. In the process, two wires controlling the washer came loose from the control panel.

One is Yellow #22, the other is Red #32. According to the wiring diagram, Red #32 connects to the timer's motor interrupter cam; Yellow #22 connects to one of the timer's reversing agitate cams.

The problem is that I can't tell where they plug into the timer. I only see one loose connector (which I think is for the red wire, based on the placement of the wires when I first realized they were disconnected). I can't see the other connector, however--it looks like it's on the inside of the washer timer (between the timer and the control panel board).

Anybody have any idea how to remove the control panel from the dryer’s front panel for this model washer? Or how to get between the timer and the control panel board?

Thanks for your help.

Solved my own problem: I needed to remove the knob to access the timer's screws, and then with the time detached, I simply placed the two wires on the appropriately numbered terminals on the backside (inside) of the timer.

The following link is helpful for removing the knob and timer:

For some reason, URL won't post correctly. Just replace the **** in the previous post with the title of this post.

The timer knob should be pretty easy to get off; it's actually pretty difficult to re-attach the wires without removing the knob. Carefully pry off the plastic plug in the middle of the knob with a flat screwdriver. Then carefully unscrew and remove all of the parts of the knob (I suggest closing the washer lid to prevent any accidents). After the knob is removed, loosen (but do not remove) the two small bolts. Now remove the front panel, and then carefully finish removing the bolts to detach the timer. Re-attach your wires based on the wiring diagram, and then put everything back together.
