I followed directions as the manual states to self clean my Jenn Air oven as I have for years. The unit never even begins to heat when the controls are set. The Lock light does not come on nor does the Clean light. I suppose some kind of sensor for the lock is not working now and that prevents the cleaning to never initiate. Does anyone have a recommendation for this problem?
Baking and Broiling work perfectly. Don't know if I should just buy another or repair this one.

Here are your parts Parts for Jenn-Air SVD8310S Range - AppliancePartsPros.comBelow is a link to a service manual. Untick "Use our download manager and get recommended downloads" and use the gray download button. Otherwise the site may download software onto your computer that you do not want. Download SVD48600.pdfIf you look at the parts you will see that many of them are no longer available. Also as you can see the wiring on the unit is complicated. Might be best to leave this to a pro, though I would want someone with hands on experience with this unit. See if diagnostics will run. I am not sure that they will as the service manual covers a bunch of units. It could be something as simple as the switch on the latch that detects the door is latched is not closing, so the unit will not go into a self clean as it thinks the door is not locked. |
