Hello All, I am new to this forum and just have a simple question about repairing my dishwasher.

I had a water leak from the dishwasher on Saturday and found that some critter had chewed a hole in the bottom of my sump. I didn't have a parts breakdown or anything else to go by so I just started taking things apart. In the process a little plastic ball fell out of either the inlet or outlet of the sump. I have purchased the new part and want to put it back together but I don't know where this ball goes. I do notice that there is a little channel in the large side of the sump that is about as wide as the ball is, but there is also a tube on the inlet side that looks to be about the same size as the plastic ball as well.

I have attached a picture of the sump if that helps.

Any help that anyone can offer me would be greatly appreciated.

Yeah, I know. I have been having the same problem looking for that model number. It is the correct model number and the place that I bought the new sump from was able to find it on their system. I'm am not sure why it doesn't show up on any parts websites. If you google it you can see that it is valid it just shows up without the 00 between the p and the w's.

I may be out to lunch on the below.

After some creative searching I think I mat have found a unit that uses the same pump as yours.

Click on a parts picture for more info on it, sometimes even a Q&A section, as an example ball item 454 in the Motor-Pump section

Hi.

The ball is going into the tube and it moves up in drain and down in circulation.
