Hello,

I am looking for some help here - out fridge is not blowing any air out of the top fridge section. I took a look at the coil under the back panel and it had froze over and had some ice build up. I unplugged the fridge, cleared the ice and pluggeg it back in - now to see if it is fixed but does anyone have any other things I can look at to resolve the following......

" Top fridge section is not cooling - do not feel any air coming from vents"

Thanks
Jim

Hi Jim,

Very likely there is some thing wrong with the defrost system in your refrigerator. The model number you posted does not come up. Verify and repost it please.

Hi Jim,

I tried everything and it does not come up. Is this refrigerator made to use in US?

Hey there Gene,

Up in Canada - turned out to be the thermostat.........the coils were covered with ice - repair guy didn't have one on him so I am picking one up this week and I will install it....we used a blow dryer to melt the ice and it stated cooling again so I have about a month or so to fix it....

The new thermostat should fix it.

There is no any online technical information for non American models. That's why your model number did not come up.

Same problem as Jim. Located in canada too and having a GE TCX 18 model. Want to change thermostat as per Jim's suggestion. How do I disassemble floor of refer to access thermostat / evaporator coils (please see the attached jpeg file)? Do I have to remove doors? I see 4 screws but can't seem to remove the evaporator coils cover.

Please help. Pictures would be appreciated.

Hi Wawy,

Finely I found the Service manual for these refrigerators. I attached it to the post. Hope it will help.
