Wired my dryer wrong and it tripped breaker and burnt out thermal limiter. Replaced thermal limiter, wired cord correctly and still no power to dryer. What else could be wrong?

Here are your parts Parts for Frigidaire AEQ7000EG0 Dryer - AppliancePartsPros.comSee the attachment for the tech sheet. I would start by checking the power. Try flipping the breaker off/on slowly a couple times. Sometimes you can loose half the line without actually tripping the breaker. Check the voltage at the plug L1 to L2 should be 240 volts L1 to Neutral and L2 to Neutral, both should be 120 volts. If OK Unplug the unit and check the wires at the terminal strip in the machine to make sure none are loose or burned out If OK Check the power at the terminal strip. Do this with the heater off and on. Be careful as 240 volts is lethal !!! I am not sure why the thermal limiter blew but even with it blown I think you should get some indication of power on the display. As far as I can see the limiter just kills power yo the motor and drum light but I am not 100% sure about this. Could be you blew the control board. |
