If you go to the Find Parts section of this site and type in your model number you will get exploded views of your machine.

With respect to your belt, you should be able to reinstall it by pushing in on the idler pulley, and then "walking" the belt around to get it on. Be sure and note the position of idler pulley spring so if it comes out you can reinstall it in the correct position.

Good luck and please post your results.

Maybe I'm just dumb. I put the belt on with the idler pulley on the inside and it hits the pulley on the transmission. The belt is tight without the idler on it. Some how i am doing something wrong. If the belt is so tight what does the idler do...thanks for your help

Can you give us some background on your problem.

Specifically, why did you have to put the belt back on? Did it break? Did you have to remove it to replace other parts? What other info about the machine can you tell us?

I apologize for stating the obvious but it sounds like you have the wrong belt.

If the belt is the one that came off the machine, and you have not worked on the pulley or motor then it is a mystery as why you are having the problem you are having.

The washer would not spin cycle. I took the front off and found the old belt slipping. old belt was cracked in several places but not broken. I took it off and got another belt the same size (in length). maybe the idler is out of place. What does the idler have to do with the belt if it is so tight on both pulleys.

The idler is to tension the belt, so your belt should not be so tight that it is not moved outward by the tensioner.

When the old belt was on, was there play in it that was taken up by the tensioner? Was it difficult to get off? Did you adjust or change anything between the time you took off the old belt and tried to put on the new one?

If your old belt was slipping, it would seem that it was too loose, and yet your new belt is too tight? Very strange!

The only thing I can think of is that something has come out of position and that your transmission pulley and motor are not lined up correctly. This could better explain your lack of spin as opposed to a slipping belt, which should not happen because of the tensioner.

Maybe others who read this thread can offer some insight?
