Hi all. My water level switch broke so I ordered a new one and was finding it very hard to get the old tube off the outer tub of the washer. With some force it came off. Are all original water level tubes that hard to get off? I even had a hard time getting the new tube around the nipple of the new switch and the cup on the outer tub.

Normally its not hard to do, but if it is I think that's a good thing because it means a tight fit. Putting a little liquid detergent on the fitting usually makes it go on easier.

Hi there thanks for the reply. I never did this before and was just nervous. I didn't want to break the nipple or the air dome. Can they withstand a little force to get the tubes on? The air dome can't break off can it?

I don't know if the fitting can be broken, and I hope you don't determine that it can by breaking it. Just be gentle, patient and use of liquid detergent as a lubricant and you should be fine.

Oh no nothing broke as far as I can tell. First time working on a washer. Saw the video for the replacement here. I already put it on last night. I actually used some spit on the fittings when the tube wouldn't go on anymore. I just pushed and waited and pushed again and waited. Till they both went on. If I did create a crack on either the nipple or air dome it would be over filling correct

More likely you would have a small leak, so keep an eye on it.
