our washer gets an f6 error and makes a loud noise when it tries to spin. I can not spin the drum at all even by hand. Is it worth repairing this on a machine that is 5yrs old and has already required a new board 2 yrs ago?

that code comes up with quite a few things that are never the problem. but 1 of them on there is the control unit. if you take the top off, there will be three screws on the back, then remove the top, the control unit is up top in the middle, in the back. but before you do that, do this. pull the washer away from the wall, and unplug it, and lean it back, and rest it on the back wall. then take the 3 screws off that hold the bottom front panel on, and remove the panel. then up front on the bottom, is the water pump. unscrew the front of the water pump, and clean out all the junk inside, and try a cycle. if it works you have it. if not replace the control module. the part # is 8182289. tom
