After much searching here and other sources, it appears that the problem with our washer is most likely the timer switch.

Started by not going into Spin cycle, unless you rotated knob again and put it there yourself. Now doing the same thing both in the rinse and spin cycle. Will do both if done manually but not automaticaly.

What is the best source for parts price wise? I see sears has the part # 661635 for $118. Not to say that is totally unreasonable, but kind of hard to justify putting that much into a 14 year old machine when I can get a new machine with same specs for around $300.

going into automatically it hasnt gone into the spin cycle for months. We can rotate the knob back to the spin start point and ONLY when done manually will it then spin and do so until cycle is complete. Just also recently started doing the same thing in the pre spin rinse cycle. Ive also tried using the other spin cycles, but it does the same in those as well.

I removed the timer several months ago looking for anything like a burnt contact but didnt find anything that looked obvious.

Sounds exactly like what ours is doing....any suggestions for a replacement parts source that isnt so expensive? Ive found one source at $91 that aint that bad, but never hurts to ask where others might have found it at a best price.

thanks for the input. I would imagine all the shipping and repair service woudl no doubt also be in the $90 range. For that I might as well go with new.
