I have a GE Monogram side by side with an ice maker that has problem that repeats itself every few months. For some reason the motor that turns the augur freezes up. This is often accompanied with a build up of ice in the ice chute on the inside of the door. I have several repair calls at about 250 dollars a clip. Each time all they do is thaw motor out and re install and say it fixed but can not tell me what the root cause(s) is. I would be very thankful if someone can tell me why this keeps happening and if there is a fix for it.

yahoo!!!!! Thank you so much. You have to wonder why when the tech guys came out here on 4 different dates, (04, 09, 10, 12) that not one mentioned that. In fact in one instance the replaced the motor. I have all my records so I think I will give them a call next week. Again thank you for your prompt reply.
