My Estate dryer has suddenly started acting weird. The heat isn't working all the time and the dryer will run when timer is in off position. I checked the back of the knob for stripping and cracking but all seem OK. I'm pretty sure its a timer issue but before I spend 3/4 the cost of the dryer for a new timer I want to be sure, any help appreciated.

Hi. Use the multimeter to check the timer contacts. With the timer set for Timed - Regular and power off check the contacts T-F, C-B, C-A for continuity. Then turn the timer to OFF and check again. If there is continuity at any of this contacts with the timer off - replace the timer Part number: W10185970

I had no continuity between C A with with power off and selector set to regular. Had continuity between C B with selector in off position. I take it the timer is the issue?
