I have a Maytag MZD2766GES that quit working last night. I have power to unit. It is warm on both sides. There is no ice build up on the freezer side and the freezer fan is running. Took of back panel to inspect all good. When I turn the temp control down still stays warm. When I turn temp control off the fans shut down. I took the lower compressor cover off. The cooling fan for the coil is running. The compressor appears cool and I believe it is not running. I had a recall completed on April of 2009 for the replacement of the Overload switch assembly. I'm not sure if I need to replace the overload switch again or the capacitor or both?

Hi.

Use the multimeter to check the continuity of the compressor's three pins between them and no continuity to the ground.
If that what you have - replace the relay/overload kit.

For the serial # starting with 27 and less Part number: 12002784
Part number: 12002784

For the serial # 28 and more Part number: 12002794
Part number: 12002794

Here are the breakdown diagrams and 01-Compressor parts for Maytag MZD2766GES - AppliancePartsPros.com

Post the results.

Simon.

Monitor the two power wires to the compressor, if no voltage, you have other problems.
