After cleaning under the fridge with a sweeper hose, a load clunk is heard every time the unit shuts off. Almost sounds like something is shaking to a stop - but very loud. What can this be?

They can last for a long time with a compressor bang but are untrustworthy and depending where it is located, can be very annoying. Best to relegate it to the basement or garage as a beer fridge.
I would check the other possible causes first.
