After being gone for a week our Kitchen Aid oven will not work when setting the BAKE temperature above 260 degrees. It gives an "Err" message instead. We've tried unplugging it for several minutes and it will heat up if the temperature is set at 260 degrees or lower. We inherited the stove when we bought our house back in March so I may be underestimating the age. Any ideas??

Somehow your oven is set to cook in Celsius instead of Fahrenheit. To switch back to Fahrenheit open the oven door, then press and hold BROIL for 5 sec or until "F°" will appear on the display. - For the future references here are the break down diagrams for the Kitchen Aid range Model KGRT507BAL1Good luck. Oh my gosh!! I can't believe it was that simple!!
My wife was ready to buy a new one and I asked her if she would be willing to wait until I checked it out online.
Thank you so much.

I never worked so hard to solve such a simple problem.
The solution appears to be the same for my KitchenAid (kgsc308Lss0) convection gas oven. Symptoms were exactly the same, and now I can set temp setppoints above 260 again.
A million thanks!!!!….. and a hot Easter meal if you’re in the Denver area.
Ed

My wife just called the local repair man and he said the service charge would be $50 and if the main board had went out it would be $200. So thanks to the internet and honest experts like yourself, we saved a lot so Thank you very much.

We have a very similar issue as pmueller07. Recently purchased house with this KitchenAid KGST300BWH2 Gas Range in it. Back during the holidays our stove was cooking a few things unevenly (rolls and breads), then it started giving the error and would not go past 260. One online search suggested the control board may have had a spill on it... glad that was not it because the board is discontinued and used ones from working pulls are around $80 and up. When I opened the front I saw that "Thermostat, fix WP9759944" was physically broken, it was in two pieces, so I ordered one. It arrived, I installed it, same problem. Next troubleshooting suggestion was "Oven temperature sensor WP8053344". Ordered that, installed it, same problem, grrrr. My cousin has an appliance repair business in another state, was about ready to call him when I saw this forum. I read the instructions to my wife, the 260 went to 500. Working great now! Ok, first part didn't fix it but it was needed, second part could be returned but once installed I figured best to keep it now all is working. I am glad this forum was here and someone else had the same problem.
