Recently I have had the water dispenser just shut down to a slow trickle when getting water. If I let it sit for a while and try again, the water comes out strong and then trickles again.

It has a brand new filter (I tried 2 actually, because I thought that this may be the problem), so that should not be the problem. I can also hear the water flow shut down in the fridge when the water dispenser slows.

Any suggestions on how to fix this issue?

Thanks,

cj

Cut off the water supply under the sink or wherever it cut off and take the line off where it goes into the water inlet valve. There is screen filter you can take out and clean.

If the screen was clogged, wouldn't that cause the water to trickle all of the time? The dispenser works when you first use it, then slows during use. I will check the screen and see if that is the prob. I assume that it is on the back of the fridge where the line attaches to the fridge?

Thanks,

If it can get past the clog just a little it will build up to the normal pressure but when you get water it can't maintain the pressure because the supply is almost cut off. It will build up again till the next time you try.

The screen should be in the line before it connects to the water inlet valve on the back.

I checked the screen and it was clean. Any thoughts on what could be the next possible cause?

How about disconnecting the line coming out of the water inlet valve and try the water and see if the water comes out strong and then trickles again.

If not try disconnecting at the bottom of the freezer door and trying again trying to narrow down where the clog may be.

Problem identified. It is the filter mount. Does anyone have a part #?

Thanks,

Try blowing the line. Take off the filter and blow from there with air compressor or if youdo not have that try canned air, wrap a rag around nozzle to force the pressure through the line. Also if the door to freezer is not shut properly the water will not work. Mine won't anyhow.
