Hi, I am working on a stove that has the glass top and the large element was not working but had 115v going into the element. I ordered the element kit installed it and now it works but it has no control low 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8 & high settings are all high. Burner does not cycle off. Checked wiring and it is correct. So I ordered a switch installed it, no change. I'm stumped. Maybe the new element is defective? Please Advise.
Thank You

Forgot to mention that with the knob on the off position the element is off.
