Hi

My Whirlpool Quiet Partner 3 stopped working one day midcycle. Completely dead with water in it undrained.

Steps I've gone through so far:

1. Checked the trip - OK.
2. Plugged it into another plug to be on the safe side, still dead.
3. Changed the internal thermal fuse, still dead.
4. Checked the door switches, all OK (continuity when closed).
5. Changed out the control panel as a last resort... still dead :confused:
6. Tried the test suggested here to see if it was infact the keypad. Nothing after the trick of taking out the ribbon.

It's as though it's just not getting any power at all, and I'm not sure what else to try or what else to test.

I'd clearly love to just replace the damn thing at this point, but the dishwaher has been tiled in so replacing it wouldn't be the work of a moment.

Any other advice or tips VERY much appreciated.

I recommend using orange wire nuts, not the yellow ones that many installers seem to prefer.
Also check to make sure that the neutral wire and hot are not reversed. The neutral wire has a stripe or ridges on the cord and should be connected to the white wire on the dishwasher. For some reason, many handymen, do-it-yourselfers, and ignorant installers think that they are interchangable.
