Hello,

I'm having an issue where my Whirlpool Quiet Partner II (Model#: DU1055XTVD1) will not drain. It fills fine, but after about a minute it just shuts off. The only way I can get it to run is to either manually drain it out with a shop-vac or put something on the emergency float to weigh it down (done for test purposes). I have taken everything apart, and everything is clean.

It appears that it is an issue with the drain functionality. I'm thinking that it is either the drain pump, or the control panel. The reason that it is a toss up is that until recently I could hit the drain/cancel button and it would drain, but now when I hit it -even after disconnecting power & resetting--I hear two clicks, one when I push it in and the drain light comes on, then immediately after that another click & the light shuts off. Too fast for me to even take my finger off the button unless I'm actually trying.

Any suggestions? I'd hate to buy one part and have it be the other, or end up having to buy both because at that point I've invested money into it that could have been better spent on a new one...

One other thing, I'm leaving tomorrow for a week, so I won't be able to do any testing, but am just looking for some feedback. I'd probably wait until the end of the week to order parts anyways so that I am here to receive them.

Thanks,
J

The drain pump impeller sometimes separates from the shaft and it will drain intermintently.
