I have a Maytag gas dryer model MDG9700AWW. The dryer will spin but does not heat. I have read similar posts and ordered and replace the coils and hi limit thermostat. The dryer is still not working in any setting. When I start the dryer the igniter glows red the gas is fed to it and it ignites. After about 5 seconds the igniter stops glowing and the flame goes out. I can hear some clicking noise like it is trying to cycle but the igniter will not glow red again and no flame. I checked continuity on the igniter and there is none. Which I don't understand, because reading other posts that would mean a bad igniter, however how does it ignite initially? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Tim

Hi, Tim.

Check if there is 120VAC to the igniter plug, if yes - replace it.
