Whirlpool Washer won't spin/agitate. Replaced Direct Drive Motor Coupling.

The house we're renting has this whirlpool washer and it has slowly stopped agitating/spinning. For a while (day or so) agitate and spin worked on the gentle and perm press cycle, and now nothing. There is motor noise as if it is trying, but the agitator doesn't move.
Based on infor I found online, I did replace the Direct Drive Motor Coupling. Behavior is still the same. Any ideas? Or is it time to get a new washing machine?

I just checked and it is agitating. No spin though on any of the cycles. I think the noise I'm hearing is the draining that occurs during spinning.

Hi. Check the motor start capacitor (use the multimeter). You should read 189-227 MFD. If not - replace it Part number: 8572717
Also check the harness and plugs at the motor and timer. Post the results. Simon.

Disregard my previous post about the capacitor.
Now is the washer draining but doesn't spin?

Hi Simon,
So I was actually just out there with my head underneath it while my wife turned on the spin cycle. The motor runs, and the drive coupling is turning.
Also, if I push the lid switch down, it's like it just sort of moves a quarter of an inch... It's like it's trying to move but can't, however if I spin it by hand it moves unhindered (which ruins my 'tiny sock clogging it up' theory).
I think that capacitor would be the culprit if the motor wasn't running at all, right?

And the agitation looks just fine - not straining or anything at least to my eyes.

So I replaced the clutch and the drive block. My knuckles are bloody and swollen now, but the spin works.
Here's the problem. Now when I run it, the machine shakes wildly on agitation and spin, AND i think it may be leaking a little.
So I think probably the tub seal on the leak, however, not sure about the shaking wildly. I think I put everything back together well. Could I have missed something?

Hi.
Take the cabinet off, bypass the lid switch, start the washer and check all 4 tension springs, then the tub position on the support frame. It may moved from the center position when you worked.
See where the leak comes from.
When you reassemble the washer it's very important to install the cabinet on all 4 locking pins at the base.

So it was even simpler. When putting back the top rim on the tub, I assumed the triangular catch plate faced the back. I moved it and everything works perfectly. Thanks very much for your help and assistance!
