oven bake and broil was not working,, changed out bad switch,, still did not work,, saw wire burnt off of clock,, bypassed timer by twisting wires together and taping with electtical tape,, everything worked fine,, but the wires where connected became hot,, is this a problem ???

Yes it will cause a problem if not now then down the road.

Without knowing what wires you connected together cannot say how big a problem. Also you did not say how the wire was burned, at a connector etc?

Any connection that generates heat is a bad connection.
You did not say if the heat is hottest at the connection point or is the whole wire getting hot all along it's length.

If it is the whole wire then you are drawing too much current through it for the gauge of wire and may have an electrical problem in the stove.

If it is just at the connection point then you have a poor connection.
Did you strip back the wire till you got to nice clean copper?
This is an absolute must for a decent connection.
Also just twisting them together in not great. Use a wire nut or better yet twist them and then solder them together.
