Finally had a chance to get back to looking into this. I removed the mother board and found a burn mark on the back. It was at one of the connections for the fuse for the compressor. It blew the solder out of the via. For a test, I pushed some of the solder back into the via to make a connection. I reconnected the motherboard and the compressor turned on. I let it run for a while just to be sure it was working. I then removed the board and resoldered the connection. So far so good. I am still not sure why the solder blew out and the fuse didn't blow, or what caused the fuse to blow in the first place. Hopefully it will continue to run for several more years. Thanks for all of the help with trouble shooting the problem.
